Welcome to Martin Holy Trinty Church
The Ringers
Our band of ringers was formed in 1999 following an appeal for ringers to 'Ring in the new Millennium'. We meet every Monday from 7pm until 8.30pm at Holy Trinity Church, Martin and we also ring at St Andrew's Church, Timberland. (Usually on the first Monday of the month.)
We are always happy to welcome new ringers either returning ringers or complete novices.
Contrary to popular belief, ringing is not a particularly physical or intellectual hobby. There is also no need to be musical. The only maths involved, is the ability to count to the number of bells in your tower, and back again.
Anyone can learn to ring from about the age of 10!

The Bells
Martin by Timberland Holy Trinity Church was built in 1874-6 with a south porch tower added in 1911. However, the need was felt for a peal of bells for the tower. At the Annual Parochial Church meeting held on 26th January 1926, it was decided to open a bells fund. A steady flow of effort and contributions resulted in a peal of 6 bells being supplied and hung in the tower by Messrs John Taylor & Co of Loughborough, in the framework provided at the time of the building of the tower for £1091 with the mason’s work coming to an additional £70. The peal was dedicated by the venerable K.E.N. Lamplough Archdeacon of Lincoln and later Bishop Suffrogen of Southampton, on Saturday 7th June 1947.
The six bells are rung full circle and are hung from ball bearings in a new two-tier cast iron ‘H’ frame for eight bells. The fifth bell is hung in the top tier
